Outlook Key Commands
There are many key commands for Outlook. The following key commands are very common. Control 1 opens the Inbox (email)
Control 2 opens the Calendar (appointments)
Control 3 opens the Contacts (people)
Control 4 opens the Tasks (tasks you create and assign to others)
Control n creates a "new" item in the Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, or Tasks areas
Control r brings up the reply email form, whether that email is closed and you are on it, or if it is open
Alt l brings up a reply to all email form, when there is more that you that the original email was sent to
Control Shift b brings up the Address Book
Control Shift e creates a new folder in the Inbox, Calendar, Contacts or Tasks areas
Control Shift y copies an item from one folder to another folder
Control Shift v moves an item from one folder to another folder
Control y takes you to a different folder.
Alt s saves and sends or saves and closes
F7 spell checks
Control Shift g brings up a box where you can flag items such as email
Hitting the Alt key one time puts you in the tab area of the ribbon. You can right arrow through the tabs, then down arrow to move onto the ribbon you want, and then Tab your way across the ribbon.
